I was delighted to present well-deserved Local Hero Awards to Toby, George, Alfie, and Evalyn. Thanks to their quick-thinking and bravery they manged to secure help for someone in need. Thank you to Ms Rees for inviting me to the school to recognise their great work.
David Johnston, MP for Wantage and Didcot, presented four pupils from Hendreds Church of England School with Local Hero Awards after they secured help for an unconscious woman in East Hendred.
The four Year 6 pupils were playing in a nearby park after school where they found an unconscious woman and acted quickly to find help for her.
Toby Cockett, George McDermaid, Alfie Necchi-Ghiri and Evalyn Atkins were all awarded Local Hero Awards by their MP for going out of their way to assist a person in need.
Lisa Rees, Headteacher at Hendreds Church of England School, said:
