Statement on Oxfordshire remaining in Tier 2

Thursday, 17 December, 2020

While I am naturally disappointed that we are remaining in Tier 2, I am not surprised as there has been a rise rather than a fall in cases - including in South Oxfordshire and the Vale - and the mood music in parliament has suggested there would not be many tier moves down ahead of the Christmas relaxation. Indeed, much of the South East has today been placed in Tier 3 - including Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Bedfordshire - and so I am relieved we have not been put in Tier 3 as well.

As ever, please continue to follow the hands, face, space guidance and take particular care over Christmas.
